About Us

Our Story:
Matt started Quiet Cove Baits in 2013 as an attempt to perfect the balsa crankbait and it turned into somewhat of a new hobby. After developing a process for hand-assembling the baits, perfecting airbrushing techniques and designs, and evolving our tough-as-nails coating over time, we sold a few here and there and asked friends to try them out. A few years later, we added jerkbaits to the lineup, and created additional color schemes and designs.

In early 2018, our crankbaits and jerkbaits became available at The Outdoorsmen in Jenison, MI, giving us a chance to get our craft into the hands of more folks in West Michigan. In late 2018, we added Nick to the team, who brought experience in soft plastics, which he first started figuring out with his brother Dylan in their mom’s basement in 2016.
Several of the soft plastic colors we offer were created by Dylan. Nick & Dylan at Lake Guntersville, AL in April 2017. Less than a month later, Dylan passed away in a car accident. We hope you enjoy our baits as much as Dylan did.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and are excited to share our work with you!
